Hired as a part-time contractor to help redesign the company’s brand, I realized quickly this was not a part-time gig. In addition to building a UX department during the last 3 years, I’ve also managed the redesign of the corporate brand across our website, print collateral, booth setup, and user conferences. I have 2 members on staff in the Design team, a talented Art Director and sharp Copywriter. Together, we are setting the standards for the company’s marketing initiatives, product launch campaigns, and branding guidelines overall.
When the market started shifting in 2013, Tk20 knew they needed to step it up quickly to stay competitive. They were hesitant to make a splash in the market but knew it needed to be done. This is where I came in. I tackled the challenge from the top and laid a path for future growth and company support. I instilled in the entire company an understanding of good design and how it could help accelerate our growth. Today, Tk20 is one of the top 3 leaders in accreditation management software and gains more market share every year. We are loud and proud, and getting noticed in every media.
Software has to move fast to keep up with the competition. Tk20 releases an average of 2 product updates per year to the higher education sector. With software as large as Tk20, we have to make sure our users are prepared and ready to accept the changes quickly in order to be successful. My Design team has launched 3 campaigns and is preparing for the largest launch the company has ever seen with the product’s new UI design. Additionally, each year my team brands the annual user conference, including production of all online, print, and onsite media. The 2015 event marked the company’s most successful conference to date, with attendance exceeding capacity in the first month of registration and garnering more unsolicited, positive feedback than any other year.
